Junk play allows chidlren the freedom to explore and discover their capablitites, to solve problems and to develop self-awareness and self-confidence.
Junk play involves the playing with everyday objects found around us, such as cardboard boxes, bricks of diffect sizes, bottles, etc. Hollow blocks can be used with planks, boxes, hessian, canvas, steering wheels, tyres, ropes, reels, crates and whatever can be produced at the carpenter's bench to make a ship, car, den, zoo, house, or an engine.
When I am engaged in junk play, I am:
